Dr. Mariia Voitekha
PhD in Physiology
Dr. Mariia Voitekha was born in Starodub, Russia. Since childhood, she loved animals and wanted to help them. In 2007, she graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine qualification from the Bryansk State Agrarian University.
In 2010, Dr. Voitekha earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in animal physiology. One year later, in 2011, she completed an internship in Estonian University of Life Sciences and began working as a referral veterinary ophthalmologist.
Dr. Voitekha has continued to advance her professional education and skills. From 2011 to the present, she has attended a large number of foreign and domestic conferences.
In 2018, she participated in a visitor program at the ophthalmology department of The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. And in 2018, she completed training at the Das Tierärztliche Augenzentrum clinic in Munich.
In 2020, she completed 14th Biennial ACVO William Magrane Basic Science Course in Veterinary and Comparative Ophthalmology.
In 2020-21, she completed an advanced course on intraocular surgery and Phacoemulsification of cataracts in Russia.
Dr. Voitekha has experience working with a variety of animals, including cats, dogs, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, and many others. Her expertise covers conditions such as corneal ulcers, conjunctivitis, cataracts, and various tumors of the eye and surrounding tissues.

In 2025, Dr. Voitekha join the esteemed team at The Eye Vet to continue helping animals preserve and restore their eyes and vision.
In addition to her professional activities, Dr. Voitekha has a son with whom she enjoys spending her free time.
