Horses are Dr. Kasturi’s favorite animals! Before becoming an equine ophthalmologist, she wanted to be a horse vet. Fortunately, ophthalmology gives her an opportunity to work with horses too.  Dr. Kasturi regularly visits racecourse, stud farms and private farms sometimes in remote villages to attend to complicated ophthalmic cases. She has performed a range of ophthalmic surgeries on horses like corneal grafting, removal of eye worms, eyelid reconstructions, removal of eye tumors etc. Though rare, cataract surgery is also available for the horses.
