Many severe systemic illnesses can manifest with the ocular symptoms like blood in the eye or sudden glaucoma.

​Severe septicaemia, blood parasite infections, cancer, liver failure, diabetes mellites etc. can lead to many ophthalmic conditions. If this connection between the eye condition and the systemic illness is not made early on, the eye doesn’t get better and the patient’s condition can get worse.
