Dr. Michael Davidson

DVM, Diplomate American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists Professor and Associate Dean Emeritus North Carolina State University, College of Veterinary Medicine

Mike Davidson is an esteemed veterinary ophthalmologist associated with North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He is currently serving as an Unpaid Emeritus at the Terry Companion Vet Med Center. His residency training in comparative ophthalmology was also completed at NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Davidson is a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist and has contributed to research on topics such as ocular infection with Toxoplasma gondii in many animal species.

Dr. David A. Wilkie

DVM, MS, Emeritus Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists Professor Emeritus, The Ohio State University, Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences

Dr. David Wilkie served for over 36 years as Professor of Ophthalmology, The Ohio State University and was Department Chair for Veterinary Clinical Sciences. He is the author of over 105 scientific articles and 50 textbook chapters. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Veterinary Ophthalmology for 15 years and is a consultant to numerous research facilities. He is a renowned international speaker and has lectured in over 28 countries. His research and teaching interests include ocular pharmacology, ocular surgery, and laboratory animal ophthalmology. He has taught principles of microsurgery and cataract surgery to hundreds of veterinary ophthalmologists in his career. Dr. Wilkie was the 2021 recipient of OSU Distinguished Alumni Award. In 2023 the title of Doctor Honoris Causa was conferred to Dr. Wilkie by The Senate of the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest.

Dr. David Maggs

BVSc, Diplomate American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists Professor Emeritus University of California-Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. David Maggs is the Editor and Co-Author of “Slatter’s Fundamentals of Veterinary Ophthalmology”, one of the most widely used textbooks in veterinary medical education. While Chair of the American Board of Veterinary Ophthalmology, he worked to establish and refine standards for ACVO residency training programs. He is a renowned international speaker and has lectured in over 39 countries around the globe. His research and teaching interests include ocular surface disease and he is widely considered the world’s leading expert on feline herpesvirus ocular infection.
