A horse eye checkup camp was conducted in Matheran near Hotel Mount Ground Horseland on 15th Feb ‘23.

World renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Richard J. McMullen along with Dr. Kasturi Bhadsavale (Founder of The Eye Vet) and her team will visit the health checkup camp especially to conduct an eye checkup for the horses of Matheran.

After receiving tremendous response in Mahabaleshwar on 8th Feb ‘23, they visited Matheran to offer an eye checkup along with primary eye care consultation. 
Eye checkup for almost 60+ horses was done. Extending the primary eye care consultation, they further did ‘Intravitreal Gentamicin’ procedure on 10 horses, ‘Photodynamic Laser Therapy’ was given to 3 horses and ‘Gundersen Conjunctival Flap’ surgery was performed on a horse.

Dr. Kasturi is a veterinary graduate from Mumbai & trained further in veterinary ophthalmology in Israel & the USA, later migrated to Australia where she practiced in general medicine for 4 years. She started her own ophthalmic consultation practice in Australia.  But she always had a strong attraction towards home and wanted to offer her expertise to pet owners in India, hence moved back to India.
