Dr. Semen Perfilov, DVM, is a veterinary anesthesiologist and emergency and critical care specialist who plays a key role in supporting the multidisciplinary team at The Eye Vet Dubai Clinic. As part of a world-class veterinary ophthalmology center, Dr. Perfilov brings extensive clinical expertise to the care of patients requiring advanced anesthesia and intensive support during complex eye procedures and critical illness. 



Dr. Semen Perfilov was born in Moscow, Russia. Since he was a child, he loved to explore different species of animals and helped them. When he grew up, he understood, that he absolutely sure to become a veterinarian to make animal’s life better. So, he was graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine qualification from the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named by K.I. Skryabin. 



After graduation he began working as a General Practitioner in a multifunctional veterinary clinic where he showed his interest in anesthesia and ICU department. After completing several professional development training programs in anesthesia and critical care he started to work as anesthesiologist and critical care clinician. In 5 years, he became a Chief of the Intensive Care Unit and Anesthesia Department at veterinary hospital in Moscow and then he was promoted to the Medical Director there, where he leaded a multidisciplinary team of veterinarians, technicians, and nurses. In parallel, Dr. Perfilov was actively involved in postgraduate education as a lecturer and program director at the Education Center of the Russian College of Veterinary Specialists and different conferences, focusing on anesthesia, intensive care, and training of veterinary nurses and technicians.

Dr. Perfilov’s clinical interests include advanced anesthesia for high-risk patients, emergency stabilization, mechanical ventilation, and long-term management of critically ill dogs and cats. He has extensive experience working with patients suffering from severe trauma, respiratory failure, sepsis, neurological emergencies, and multi-organ dysfunction.



Outside of work he enjoys nature walks, freediving, videography, surfing and bodyboarding.
